A crown generally takes two appointments to complete.
Your dentist will start by numbing the area around the tooth with a local anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort.
Once the damaged parts of the tooth have been removed, the healthy part is reshaped in preparation to receive the crown.
The dental lab will then custom-make your crown from your dental impressions, ensuring a precise fit and a natural shape.
We may fit a temporary crown while the permanent crown is being prepared.
During your next visit, your dentist will check the fit, form and appearance of your new crown before it’s permanently bonded to the top of the tooth.
